- Whiplash Sudden neck movement causes muscle strain, ligament tears, and nerve irritation. One of the most common MVA injuries. Often worsens without early treatment.

- Soft Tissue Injuries Sprains, strains, and tears in muscles, tendons, and ligaments - painful and slow to heal without proper therapy.

Our MVA Rehab Services
A Complete Multi-Disciplinary MVA Rehabilitation Program
We combine several therapies tailored specifically to your accident injuries all under one roof in Mississauga.
Physiotherapy Our registered physiotherapists design a personalized treatment plan using hands-on manual therapy, strengthening exercises, electrotherapy, and ultrasound to reduce pain, restore movement, and rebuild functional strength after your accident.
Chiropractic Care Targeted spinal and joint adjustments restore proper alignment disrupted by collision forces. Chiropractic care is particularly effective for neck pain, back pain, and headaches arising from MVA injuries.
Registered Massage Therapy Deep tissue massage reduces muscle spasm, breaks down scar tissue, and improves circulation to injured areas accelerating healing of the soft tissue damage caused by whiplash and impact injuries.
Concussion Rehabilitation Specialized vestibular and visual rehabilitation for post-concussion symptoms including headaches, dizziness, brain fog, and sensitivity to light common after rear-end and side-impact collisions.
Acupuncture Traditional and contemporary acupuncture techniques activate the body’s natural pain-relief response, reduce inflammation, and support healing of deep soft tissue injuries that are slow to respond to other therapies.
Shockwave Therapy High-energy acoustic waves stimulate tissue repair at the cellular level - highly effective for chronic tendon injuries, calcifications, and scar tissue that develop from undertreated accident injuries.

FAQ SECTION
Everything You Need to Know About MVA Rehabilitation in Mississauga
Q1: Is MVA physiotherapy covered by insurance in Ontario?
Yes. Under Ontario’s Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS), your auto insurance covers physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and other rehabilitation services following a motor vehicle accident regardless of who was at fault. At Rejoice Physiocare in Mississauga, we direct-bill your insurer so you pay nothing out of pocket.
Q2: How soon should I start MVA rehabilitation after a car accident?
As soon as possible ideally within 48 to 72 hours of your accident. Many injuries, including whiplash and soft tissue damage, don’t produce full symptoms immediately. Early treatment prevents acute injuries from becoming chronic conditions, reduces scar tissue formation, and also creates a clear medical record that supports your insurance claim. You do not need to wait for pain to worsen.
Q3: Do I need a doctor’s referral for MVA physiotherapy in Ontario?
No referral is required. In Ontario, you can access physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and massage therapy directly following a motor vehicle accident without a physician’s referral. Simply contact Rejoice Physiocare and our team will guide you through starting your treatment and the insurance process from your very first call.
Q4: Am I covered for MVA treatment if the accident was my fault?
Yes. Ontario operates a no-fault auto insurance system. This means your SABS accident benefits cover your rehabilitation regardless of who caused the accident. Whether you were the at-fault driver, an innocent party, a passenger, or even a cyclist or pedestrian hit by a vehicle, you are entitled to accident benefit coverage for treatment.
Q5: What is an OCF-18 form and do I need to fill it out myself?
An OCF-18 (Treatment and Assessment Plan) is a form your physiotherapist submits to your auto insurer to authorize and fund your rehabilitation program. You do not fill it out yourself our team at Rejoice Physiocare prepares and submits all OCF documentation, including the OCF-3 Disability Certificate, on your behalf. We handle all communication with your adjuster.
Q6: How long does MVA rehabilitation take?
Recovery timelines vary by injury type and severity. Minor soft tissue injuries with consistent treatment often resolve in 4 to 8 weeks. Moderate injuries such as disc herniation or concussion may require 3 to 4 months. Complex or multiple injuries can take 6 months or longer. Your therapist will set clear recovery milestones from your first visit and adjust your plan as you progress.
Q7: What if I have pain but my initial medical report said I was fine?
This is very common after MVA injuries. Soft tissue damage, nerve irritation, and concussion symptoms can be delayed by hours or days. An initial emergency room clearance rules out fractures and life-threatening injury it does not mean you have no soft tissue or neurological injury. Come in for a physiotherapy assessment as soon as you notice symptoms; do not wait for them to worsen.

Frequently Asked Questions
After a motor vehicle accident, you may experience whiplash, neck and back pain, soft tissue injuries, or reduced mobility. At Rejoice Physiocare in Mississauga, our team provides rehabilitation to help you recover and supports your motor vehicle accident claim with assessment, treatment, and documentation throughout your care.
I was rear-ended and now my neck is stiff and I get headaches. Where do I start?
See your doctor or a walk-in clinic first to rule out anything serious. Then report the accident to your auto insurer and ask for a claim number. You can book an assessment with us without a referral, and we will explain the forms and what your policy may cover.
Will my car insurance pay for physiotherapy after an accident?
In Ontario, treatment after a car accident is usually funded through accident benefits on your auto insurance, and some people also use extended health benefits. What is covered depends on your policy, your injuries and the treatment plan your insurer approves. We complete the treatment forms and submit them to your insurer.
What forms are involved after a car accident?
Your insurer sends you an application package. The clinic completes a Treatment and Assessment Plan (OCF-18) and, if needed, a Disability Certificate (OCF-3). We explain each form, submit it to your insurer and keep you updated on what has been approved.
I get dizzy when I turn my head since the accident. Can you help?
Dizziness after a collision can come from the neck, the inner ear or a concussion. Our physiotherapists assess these systems and provide vestibular and neck rehabilitation when appropriate. If the dizziness is severe or comes with new symptoms, see your doctor first.
Can I start treatment before my auto insurance claim is approved?
Yes, you can be assessed first. Until the insurer approves your treatment plan, you may choose to use your extended health benefits or pay privately. We explain your options at your first visit so you can decide.
